To provide an evaluation method which enables an efficient analysis of Fe in a ferrous purifying agent penetrated into soil without obstructing it by naturally present Fe and calculating the penetration range of the ferrous purifying agent when soil polluted with an organohalogen compound and/or heavy metals or the like is purified using the ferrous purifying agent because the content of Fe in the penetrated ferrous purifying agent can be calculated.
In the evaluation method of the penetration state of the ferrous purifying agent present in soil, ferrous particles are dissolved by 0.0001-5.0 mol/l of an acid to be subjected to solid-liquid separation in order to sample soil at a predetermined position and suppressing the elution of the Fe component from the soil itself with respect to the sampled soil to dissolve the ferrous particles. Thereafter, the content of Fe is analyzed with respect to a filtrate after separation to calculate the content of the ferrous purifying agent in soil.
