To permit proper evaluation by using an animal having a nude gene or immunodeficiency gene and having developed cancer and admistering the gene of this animal to a healthy animal to evaluate the carcinogenesis initiation and carcinogenesis promotion activity of a substance producing an antibody.
A nude mouse into which a nude gene is introduced is used to evaluate the carcinogenesis initiation and carcinogenesis promotion activity of a substance without considering a problem of the neutralization caused by the production of an antibody. In this evaluation method, an initial lesion, for example, a fine blister with a diameter of about 1 mm or less, a papule or flare can be observed by the naked eye and, when the administration of a carcinogenesis promotor is continued thereafter, a lesion occurs in many cases and a protruberance becomes marked to become a tumor before long. Therefore, the presence of an observable initial lesion is set to an index to enable the prevention or early medical treatment of cancer.
