Abstract:
An excavator according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a lower travelling body (1); an upper turning body (3) mounted on the lower travelling body (1); a main pump (14)installed in the upper turning body (3); a travelling hydraulic motor (20) that is a variable displacement type motor configured to move the lower travelling body (1) by being driven by hydraulic oil discharged by the main pump (14); and a controller (30) configured to control a motor capacity of the travelling hydraulic motor (20) so as to be switchable between a plurality of levels. The controller (30) switches the motor capacity of the travelling hydraulic motor (20) to a low rotation setting upon detecting that an operation for changing a travelling direction of the lower travelling body (1) is performed.
