Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely perform a chucking action by rotating a chuck body at a large stroke into uniform contact with the outer periphery of a rotary shaft without enlarging a chuck mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: A static chuck mechanism 13 is supported at the fixed position of a stanchion 10. The stanchion 10 liftably supports a rotary shaft 26 on both chuck mechanisms 13, 20. Both chuck mechanisms 13, 20 are switched to the chuck state in turn while the rotary shaft 26 is rotated, the mobile chuck mechanism 20 is lifted or lowered, and the rotary shaft 26 is lowered. Both chuck mechanisms 13, 20 are provided with at least a pair of rotatable chuck bodies 42, 64 separably arranged on the outer periphery of the rotary shaft 26, cylinders 49, 68 for driving the chuck bodies 42, 64, and connecting links 54, 73 connecting the cylinders 49, 68 and the chuck bodies 42, 64.
