Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform a partial repair without stopping the working of an entire system by replacing a processor having a breakdown with another nondefective one in a rough-coupled multiprocessor system while locking an occupied film or block. CONSTITUTION:When access is given to a file or a block set on a disk device 130 shared between processors 100 and 101, a permission is given to an exclusive controller 110 for said access. In case the processor 100 receives the permission of access and has its breakdown during the access, a holding command is issued from the working processor 101. Then the processor 100 is shifted to the processor 101 that issued a holding command with a shared file or a block kept as it is under a locked state. Thus the file and the block are recovered and therefore the partial repairs are possible without stopping the working of an entire system.
