Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an excretion bed capable of preventing the generation of offensive odor due to the excreta of pets raised indoors such as dogs or cats over a long period, and also having insect-proofing effect, consisting of silica gel mixed with organic acid-contg. silica gel and silver ion-contg. silica gel.
CONSTITUTION: This excretion bed for pets consists of silica gel 1 mixed with pref. 3-10wt.% of organic acid-contg. silica gel 1A and pref. 1-5wt.% of silver ion-contg. silica gel 1B. The pore diameter of the silica gel 1 is pref. 20-200&angst , and as the organic acid, a low-volatile one such as oxalic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, β-oxyacid, malic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid or tannic acid is preferable.
