To provide a device for detecting the operation of an exhaust brake device for closing an exhaust brake valve arranged on the midway of an engine exhaust pipe for a vehicle and applying great braking force to the vehicle, enabling detection of the operated condition of the exhaust brake valve with an operating lever to make an operation lamp lit on.

The exhaust brake operation detecting device comprises an operating circuit for operating the exhaust brake valve 1 arranged on the midway of the exhaust pipe for the engine, a control part for controlling the operating circuit to operate the operating lever 4 for opening/closing the exhaust brake valve 1, and a operation lamp for displaying the operated condition of the exhaust brake valve 1, wherein a detection switch 15 is provided for detecting the operated condition of the exhaust brake valve 1 with the operating lever 4 to make the operation lamp lit on or off by using detection signals from the detection switch 15. Thus, the operated condition of the exhaust brake valve 1 with the operating lever 4 can be detected to make the operation lamp lit on.
