Title:
EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3300012
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To allow highly precise and reliable deterioration judgement of a catalyst independently of the deteriorating conditions of oxygen sensors by judging the catalyst to deteriorate in accordance with the output of the oxygen sensors which are arranged on the upstream and downstream sides of the catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An engine exhaust gas cleanup device is provided with oxygen sensors 11, 12 arranged on the upstream and downstream sides of an exhaust gas cleanup catalyst 10 set up on the way of an exhaust gas passage 3 in an engine, and a catalyst deterioration judging means A to judge the catalyst to deteriorate in accordance with output values of the oxygen sensors 11, 12. Also, it is provided with an oxygen sensor deterioration detecting means B to detect the oxygen sensors 11, 12 to deteriorate and a correcting means C to correct a value judged by the catalyst deterioration judging means A when at least one of the oxygen sensors is detected to deteriorate by the oxygen sensor deterioration detecting means B.
