Title:
EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3525871
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress discharging of HC through a particulate filter before completion of its warming while impeding accumulation of fine grains in a partition of the particulate filter.
SOLUTION: An oxygen storage active oxygen release agent 61 emitting active oxygen promoting oxidation of a fine grain temporarily captured in particulate filters 22, 22' is carried to be held thereby, an exhaust switching valve 73 makes exhaust gas capable of passing through the particulate filter 22, 22' alternately from one side and the other side of its partition 54, the particulate filters 22, 22' are divided into exhaust gas flow directions of the first/ second particulate filter 22, 22', an HC adsorbent 80, adsorbing HC before a temperature rises and detaching the adsorbed HC when the temperature rises, is arranged between these particulate filters.
