To provide an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus which can eliminate harmful substances, such as DEP, MOx, SOx, and COx, contained in an exhaust gas of a diesel engine, consumes little energy, can be inexpensively and compactly composed, and is suitable to be installed in a highway tunnel.
The cleaning apparatus is equipped with the following: a gas inlet for introducing an exhaust gas into the inside; a contact part which causes the exhaust gas introduced through the gas inlet to contact a functional solution which induces the flocculation of a suspended particulate matter contained in the exhaust gas; a gas passageway which secures a circulation time in which the suspended particulate matter contained in the exhaust gas contacted the functional solution in the contact part coagulates to a size of 200 μm or more; a separation device which captures particles passing through the gas passageway and having a size of 200 μm or more and separates the suspended particulate matter and clean air; and an air outlet which discharges clean air obtained in the separation device. The functional solution used above is a liquid containing eugenol and/or monoterpene.
