Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst and a method for manufacturing the catalyst in which activation by calcination which is an obstruction to obtain the catalyst having high activity in the conventional art is not necessitated and V and Mo are quite sufficiently compounded and to provide a drastically enhanced catalyst in activity, particularly in low temperature activity and durability.
SOLUTION: This exhaust gas cleaning catalyst compound is represented by the rational formula (NH4)xMo2VxO(3x+6) (wherein (x) is 2.8-3.2) in which an atomic ratio of vanadium to molybdenum V/Mo is 3/2. The method for manufacturing the catalyst compound comprises a chemical reaction of molybdenum oxide (MoO3) and ammonium meta vanadate (NH4VO3) in the presence of water for a specified time.
