PURPOSE: To prevent a thermal efficiency from decreasing by a method wherein a bottom surface of a solution receiving part of a gas-liquid separator is positioned at a higher location than a maximum varying position of a liquid surface at the refrigerant liquid receiving part.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom surface of a gas-liquid separating device 2 is provided with a step, and a bottom surface of a solution receiving part 2a is positioned at a higher location than a maximum varying position of liquid surface of the refrigerant liquid in a refrigerant liquid receiving part 2b. Although a varying width of the liquid surface is defined by a metering ratio between a holding liquid amount in an entire system and a flow rate at an output controlled flow rate against a variation in load and the like, it is normally less than 30mm and also a liquid surface height does not exceed 50mm under a normal operation. Accordingly, if the step is more than 50mm, its major object can be attained, although it is preferable that a value of 70mm or more is set in view or a heat transfer in a vertical direction through a partition wall 22. In addition, if there is a certain step between the solution receiving part 2a and the refrigerant liquid receiving part 2b, it is not necessary to arrange the step between the refrigerant liquid receiving part 2b and the low temperature regenerating device 3 and further no arrangement of the step is preferable in view of only a thermal efficiency.
