To sufficiently denitrate and desulfurize exhaust gas from a combustion apparatus.
Exhaust gas of one combustion apparatus 1 is discharged by separating into low concentration SOx exhaust gas and high concentration SOx exhaust gas by a first exhaust gas line L1 and a second exhaust gas line L2 separately connected to the combustion apparatus 1. Respective exhaust gases are introduced into a first desulfurization-denitration device 11 and a second desulfurization-denitration device 12, to adsorb SOx and reduce NOx in the exhaust gases, by a carbonaceous adsorbent of the respective devices 11, 12. Thus, the high concentration NOx is sufficiently reduced for the low concentration SOx exhaust gas, without inhibiting a catalytic action for reduction due to low concentration of SOx, while, for the high concentration SOx exhaust gas, high concentration SOx is preferentially and sufficiently adsorbed.
