To provide an exhaust gas treatment method for an ash melting furnace and a system therefor that treats a toxic substance with high removal efficiency by improving dust collection efficiency in exhaust gas and forming an appreciable cake layer.
The system comprises an ash melting furnace 10 for treating or melting incinerated ash and the like, a cyclone 12 for scavenging and separating soot and dust in exhaust gas emitted from the ash melting furnace 10, a cooler 13 for cooling the exhaust gas from about 850°C to 1,200°C, to 250°C or lower, a dust collector 14 for scavenging and separating soot and dust while an alkaline neutralizer 20 is supplied to the exhaust gas cooled to 250°C or lower to desulfurize and desalt it, and a fan 15 for returning at least a part of the exhaust gas emitted from the dust collecting means to a gas inlet of the dust collecting means. The fan 15 is controlled so that an exhaust gas passing speed in the dust collector 14 is about 0.2 to 1.0 m/min.
