The exhaust heat recovery device comprises: an evaporation part 40 for heating and evaporating operating fluid filled inside with heat exchange with exhaust gas exhausted from an engine 10; a condensation part 50 provided in an exhaust heat recovery circuit 21 in which engine cooling water circulates, and cylindrically shaped extending in the vertical direction for cooling and condensing the operating fluid with heat exchange between the evaporated operating fluid and the engine cooling water; an evaporation pipe 60 for carrying the operating fluid evaporated by the evaporation part 40 into the condensation part 50; a return pipe 61 for returning the operating fluid condensed by the condensation part 50 to the evaporation part 40; a valve mechanism 80 provided on the downstream side of the condensation part 50 for stopping the return of the condensed operating fluid to the evaporation part 40; and a float member 70 provided in the condensation part 50, and having smaller density than the condensed operating fluid and floating on the liquid surface of the operating fluid.
