Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce generation of temporary negative pressure due to sudden stop of the release of exhaust gas so as to reduce retraction of exhaust gas and the generation of pulsation sound of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust sound reducing device 25 of an engine 1 for reducing the generation of pulsation sound of exhaust gas at the muffler-outlet pipe 6 of an exhaust muffler 5 is arranged, extending between the muffler-outlet pipe 6 and a fan case. In this case, a cooling wind pressure-feeding passage 3 of a cooling fan 2 for the engine 1 is connected through a wind guide passage 4 to the muffler-outlet pipe 6 of the exhaust muffler 5. Cooling wind 7 pressure- fed by the cooling fan 2 is fed through the passage 3 to the muffler-outlet pipe 6 under pressure. Temporary negative pressure in the muffler-outlet pipe 6 generated due to sudden stop of the release 9 of exhaust gas from a cylinder 13 can thus be reduced by the supply of cooling wind 7 to restrict retraction of exhaust gas.
