Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expandable composition which can give a high-expansion ratio smooth-surfaced molded product having uniform cells by mixing a specified linear ethylene/α-olefin copolymer with a heat-decomposable blowing agent.
SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. linear ethylene/3-12C α-olefin copolymer having an Mw/Mn ratio of 3 or below (wherein Mw is the weight-average molecular weight as determined by gel permeation chromatography, and Mn is the number-average molecular weight), a density of 0.850-0.980g/cm3, a melt flow rate of 0.5-5dl/g (under a load of 2,160g at 190°C), S (S=ΔlogG'/Δlogf) in the range 0.70<S<0.90 (wherein S is the gradient of G' within the frequency region ranging from the frequency (fc) at which the storage modulus (G') as determined from the frequency dependency of the dynamic viscoelasticity coincides with the loss modulus (G") from fc/10, and an activation energy of flow at 160-220°C of 35kJ/mol or below with 1-20 pts.wt. heat-decomposable blowing agent.
