Abstract:
To provide an expander which can be easily started while achieving a high expansion ratio.SOLUTION: An expander 1a of this invention includes a high pressure space 11, a plurality of operation chambers 20, a low pressure space 12, an intake passage 31, a discharge passage 32, a valve 40a, and a communication passage 50. The intake passage 31 communicates the high pressure space 11 with the operation chamber 20. The discharge passage 32 communicates the low pressure space 12 with the operation chamber 20. The valve 40a adjusts an opening and closing period of the intake passage 31 and an opening and closing period of the discharge passage 32, and switches an intake stroke, an expansion stroke, and a discharge stroke. Working fluid is sucked into the operation chamber 20 in the intake stroke. The working fluid is expanded in the operation chamber 20 which is in the expansion stroke. The working fluid is discharged from the operation chamber 20 through the discharge passage 32 in the discharge stroke. The communication passage 50 communicates the high pressure space 11 with the operation chamber 20 which is in the expansion stroke.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
