Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable propulsion to be reliably obtained by taking a segment as a reaction receiver and smoothly carry out widening between a normal excavation part and a widening excavation part and the excavation of a shrinkage-of-width migration part.
SOLUTION: A shield body 1 whose front part having a cutter head capable of widening excavation is provided with a fixed barrel part 4 and a movable barrel part 5 disposed in such a manner as to move freely in a widening direction relative to the barrel part 4. The barrel part 5 is provided with a widened inner barrel 6 free to move in parallel in an expansion-contraction direction and an oscillating outer barrel 7 supported on the inner barrel 6 in such a manner as to be free to oscillate back and forth. The inner barrel 6 is provided with a movable propulsion jack for taking the segment assembled within the shield body 1 as the reaction receiver in order to propel the shield body 1 forward.
