Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the distortion of a forming mold by forming a forming mold as a box type structure and constituting the forming mold of a central portion and two end portions having one channel shape and freely slidably integrating the portions overlapping on the central portion of the respective end portions.
CONSTITUTION: A tundish has an durable lining and in addition, a expendable lining is formed between the lining and the forming mold having a suitable box shape. The forming mold has the end portions 25 and the central portion 24 slidably coupled thereto. The respective parts of the forming mold are integrally held by arrangement of guide shafts 26 and vanes 27. The forming mold is put as a single structure including its cap into the tundish. The cap has an inlet for heating gas and a series of regulatable outlets. As a result, the forming mold may be uniformly and efficiently heated without the occurrence of distortion.
