Abstract:

To provide a means for efficiently producing in mass a protein having toxicity to a host cell by using a genetic engineering method.

The protein having toxicity to the host cell is produced by allowing a fused protein comprising the protein having toxicity to the host cell, a cleavage site of a proteolytic enzyme, a protein for reducing or neutralizing toxicity of the protein, and a tag for purification to be expressed in the host cell by using a gene encoding the fused protein, and cleaving the obtained fused protein by the proteolytic enzyme.
