To provide an extendable door device which has intermediate link members that are asymmetrical with respect to an intermediate virtual plane, and at the same time that all have a common shape.
The expandable door device is formed of: a pair of upper and lower pantographic mechanisms which are each set up by serially connecting between the pairing intermediate link members 21, 21 intersecting crosswise each other; and joint muntins vertically connecting between the link mechanisms. Each intermediate link member 21 consists of a central pivoting portion 31 arranged at the longitudinal center and a pair of end pivoting portions 32, 33 formed at both longitudinal ends, and each pivoting portion is formed like a substantial cylinder having a length equal to almost one half the axial width thereof. The mutually intersecting intermediate link members 21, 21 have their central pivoting portions 31 connected together by a first joint muntin 13a, and the intermediate link members 21, 21 adjacent to each other in an expanding direction have their end pivoting portions 32, 33 connected together by a second joint muntin 13b. Herein the central pivoting portion 31 is arranged on one end side with respect to an axial direction of the intermediate link member 21, and the pairing end pivoting portions 32, 33 are arranged on mutually different end sides with respect to the axial direction of the intermediate link member 21.
