PURPOSE: To easily manufacture an extended nip (shoe) press belt by inserting both a fabric base and a polymer sheet between upper and lower platens and an insert plate, and then subjecting them to thermo-compression bonding.

CONSTITUTION: This extended nip (shoe) press belt is manufactured by the following steps: (1) inserting an insert plate 3 between an upper platen 1 and a lower platen 2; (2) inserting a fabric base 4 between the upper platen 1 and the insert plate 3 and inserting the fabric base 4 between the lower platen 2 and the insert plate 3; (3) inserting polymer sheets 7, 7 between these fabric bases 4, 4 and the insert plate 3; (4) pressing both fabric bases and polymer sheets with and between the platens 1 and 2 so as to fuse each polymer sheet and to make the polymer penetrate into the fabric bases; (5) opening the upper and lower platens 1, 2, transferring the fabric bases, inserting other polymer sheets 7, 7 and performing the same treatment mentioned above.
