Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensible and contractible bicycle which has a simple structure and enables the adjustment of the wheel-to-wheel distance between a front wheel and a rear wheel.
SOLUTION: The extensible and contractible bicycle comprises a front frame 10 and a rear frame 20, and the front frame 10 has a head pipe 12 and a front forked leg 14, the upper end of which is provided with a handle system 16 having a handle 13 and the lower end of which is provided with the rotary front wheel 15. The rear frame 20 has a quintuple pipe 35 on which a foldable pedal 27 and a drive unit 21 can be fitted and the rear end of which is provided with a composite vertical pipe with rear upper pipes 28 welded to the upper end of the vertical pipe. The rear wheel 25 that can be driven by the drive unit 21 is arranged at a place where the rear upper pipes 28 and rear lower pipes 29 are joined. The rear lower pipes, a movable pipe 24, and a supporting pipe 26 are fixed together to form the composite vertical pipe. Both ends of a first main pipe are clamped by two fixing members 30, 31 to determine the relative position between the first main pipe and a first sub-pipe.
