Resin particles coated with two or more fine particles (silica-containing material and other than the silica-containing material, for example; one is silica particles subjected to surface hydrophobic treatment, and the other is metal compound particles selected from metal oxide, metal soap, and metal salt other than silicon) selected from particles containing metal compounds different from each other are used as an external additive for toner.
