Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defibrillator which is easily carried by a person dealing with therapy in an early period because of its small size and lightness in weight.
SOLUTION: Manganese dioxide lithium primary batteries 94 and a main printed circuit board 86 are housed in a housing having a capacity below 150 square inches. The main printed circuit board 86 has an electrode connector 82 which is connected with two electrodes adapted to form an electrical contact with the outside of a patient, a connection mechanism which forms an electric circuit together with the manganese dioxide lithium primary batteries 94 and the two electrodes when the respective electrodes are attached to the patient and a controller which activates the connection mechanism and transmits the electric energy from the manganese dioxide lithium primary batteries 94 to the respective electrodes.
