Abstract:
To provide an external peripheral cutting blade which can accurately perform processing at a low cutting load even if the cutting processing is performed at a high-feed speed, and can improve a processing yield and reduce a cost, and a manufacturing method.SOLUTION: In an external peripheral cutting blade in which a grinding wheel blade part 2 including abrasive grains and coupling materials is formed at an external peripheral part of a circular ring-shaped thin-thickness pedestal plate 1, when assuming a range surrounded by two virtual planes vf1, vf2 which are parallel with both flat faces of the pedestal plate 1, and contact with each other at both ends of the grinding wheel blade part 2 in a width direction, and two virtual circumferential faces vc1, vc2 contacting with internal/external peripheries of the grinding wheel blade part 2 with a rotating shaft of the external peripheral cutting blade as a center, an occupation rate of the grinding wheel blade part 2 in the virtual range is 10 to 40 vol.%, and both end parts of the grinding wheel blade part 2 in the width direction have shapes which are recessed from a virtual plane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
