Abstract:
To prolong service life of the entire hard disk by autonomously making the hard disk motor stop and to save power consumption.
In an external storage device 10 constituted of a storage device control part 12 and the hard disk 7 as a storage device part, the storage device control part 12 autonomously stops the motor of the hard disk 7 in the case that no access from a host device 1 is performed even when a preset time elapses.
