Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the forming of logo etc., by a method wherein a read image pattern is automatically divided into patterns of n×n dots to be stored in a font memory.

CONSTITUTION: In an image memory 4, a display pattern for one screen to be displayed on a display part 3 is stored. An image reader 5 reads an image on the basis of a read start signal outputted from a control part 2 and writes it in the image memory 4. A cursor generator 6 determines the position of a cursor in the image memory 4 on the basis of a cursor move signal outputted from the control part 2 and writes a cursor pattern on a position in the image memory 4 corresponding to the determined position. In a dot register 8 the dot number (n) is stored, and in a font memory 9 a pattern represented by a character code is stored in an area corresponding to the character code. In a read coordinate register 11 a start point x0, y0 and an end point x1, y1 of a pattern of n×n dots to be read from the image memory 4 are stored.
