To provide a system for maximize the total amount of blood processed during a procedure by optimizing concentration of an anticlotting drug in a donor/patient and an extracorporeal piping set in the apheresis procedure.
A storage part 150 to accumulate a non-collected blood component is disposed on a cassette assembly 100 of the extracorporeal blood processing system. A first ultrasonic sensor 1300 is disposed on the upper part of the storage part 150 and a second ultrasonic sensor 1320 thereunder. When the non-collected blood component accumulated is equal to or higher than a first predetermined level in the storage part 150, the first ultrasonic sensor 1300 senses it and outputs a first signal. In response to the first signal, a first mode is finished and a second mode is started to return the non-collected blood component to a donor. When the accumulated level becomes equal to or lower than the second predetermined level, the second ultrasonic sensor senses it and finishes the second mode and the first mode to accumulate the non-collected component is started.
