To extract a component contained in a plant tissue that can efficiently extract the component as it remains unchanged in quality without carbonizing the plant tissue nor feeding hot water in a region of a subcritical water from the outside.
The method for extracting a component contained in a plant tissue comprises conducting the treatment of introduction of a raw material, the treatment of hydrolysis and the treatment of cooling. The treatment of introducing the raw material is the treatment (step S1) of introducing a plant raw material into a treatment chamber 1 and hermetically closing the treatment chamber 1. The treatment of hydrolysis is the treatment (step S2 and step S3) of heating the plant raw material in the treatment chamber 1 in a range of 130-150°C; and exposing the plant raw material in an atmosphere of water vapor resulting from moisture contained in the plant raw material for a given period of time to break the cellular tissue of the plant raw material and entrap the component contained in the plant tissue from the inside of the cell into the water vapor. The treatment of cooling is the treatment (step S4 and step S5) of cooling the water vapor within the treatment chamber 1 after the treatment of hydrolysis; and extracting the component contained in the plant tissue which has been entrapped in the water vapor.
