PURPOSE: To provide the eyesight examining device by which a testee can examine his own eyesight easily at home, and also, by himself at any time.

CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a monitor screen 3 for displaying an eyesight examination index, a remote controller 2 provided with transmitting switches 11-14 for transmitting an answer signal to a screen displayed by this monitor screen 3, a correct/erroneous deciding means 7b for deciding whether the answer signal from this remote controller 2 is correct or erroneous, a buzzer 6 for informing a false/erroneous result decided by this correct/erroneous deciding means 7b to a testee, and an illuminance sensor 5 for detecting brightness of an atmosphere. Also, this device is constituted of a light controlling means 7b for adjusting brightness of the screen of the monitor screen 3 in accordance with brightness detected by this illuminance sensor 5, a storage means 7c for storing a result of examination, a comparing means 7b for comparing a tendency of a result of the previous examination and a result of the present examination, and the buzzer 6 for informing abnormality at the time when its difference calculated by this comparing means 7b exceeds a prescribed value.
