PURPOSE: To obtain fabric inspection device not causing hindrance in mistaken weft inserting during weaving, in restoring operation during breakage of warp or in maintenance operation of reed, hardly being under influence of outer disturbance light without taking a specific measure to prevent incidence of outer disturbance light to a receptor part.

CONSTITUTION: A storage box 7 is arranged along in the width direction of woven fabric W just below a passage position of the woven fabric W and a sensor head 13 is movably supported on a sensor head 13 in the storage box 7. A projector 19, a half mirror 20, a condenser 21 are set in a box-shaped case 18 of the sensor head 13 and a space filter 23 of differential constitution is installed at the side of the half mirror 20. A light shielding plate 24 having formed a through hole 24a is fixed between the half mirror 20 and the space filter 23.
