Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000328372
Kind Code:

To ensure knitted/woven fabrics to be recycled as a felt material or the like by disaggregating them to individual fiber level into an ultimately disaggregated fiber material.

Knitted/woven fabrics are cut into small fabric pieces, which are then put into between needled surfaces 2 and 3 being in relative movement with respective groups 2a and 3a of numerous needles to disentangle the pieces at yarn levels into an intermediately disaggregated fiber material by making use of mutual hooking between the needle groups 2a, 3a and the small fabric pieces; the intermediately disaggregated fiber material is then subjected to a carding machine and disentangled at fiber levels into an ultimately disentangled fiber material, which, in turn, is recycled.
