To provide a fabric which has a new hand, can easily be produced without needing a binding member in a fulling process, and can variously change the sizes and mutual distances of protrusion-like portions protruded from the surface of the fabric.
This fabric is characterized by integrally weaving a ground tissue 2 with pairs of warp groups and weft groups arranged in a lattice-like form by a double weaving method, exposing the warp groups and the weft groups on the front side of the ground tissue to form the mutually interlaced woven portions A floated from the ground tissue at at least one portion of crossed portions 6 formed by crossing the pairs of the warp groups and the weft groups each other, disposing the warp groups and the weft groups on the back side of the ground tissue in portions except the woven portions and their vicinity, cutting both the sides of the warp groups and the weft groups, respectively, continued to the woven portions on the back side of the ground tissue, and applying a fulling treatment to the whole fabric containing the woven portions in a state partially pulling up the warp groups and the weft groups on the front side of the ground tissue to form the protruded portions 3.
