This device is provided with a reader part 1 for reading original information, a facsimile part 4 for performing facsimile communication by converting the resolution of read information and an OCR(character recognizing) part 9 for recognizing characters in image data converted into each resolution. In this case, an image with a high recognition rate, that is, an image which is judged to be easily readable in transmission information with plural resolutions is transmitted with low resolution and an image which is judged to be hardly readable is transmitted with high resolution in accordance with the identified result at the OCR part 9.
