Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the facsimile communication system in which received data is recovered from its error by a simple method.
CONSTITUTION: When no abnormality is in existence in preceding communication results with an opposite party going to be communicated in a transmission section A, an MMR code generating section 6 converts digitally converted data into a usual MMR code, and when there is any abnormality in the preceding communication results with an opposite party going to be communicated, MMR coding is applied to data of lines whose line number is divided out by a set positive integer at a linear code generating section 8, and MMR coding is applied to data of other lines at the MMR code generating section 6. In a reception section B, when no abnormality is detected in received data, an original image data decoding section 15 uses decoded data as original image data and stores the data to a data storage section 16, and when an abnormality is detected in the reception data, data of one preceding line are used for original image data as the restored data of a faulty line to decode the received data sequentially.
