PURPOSE: To shorten the communication time of a facsimile equipment by mutually storing the information on the opposite party sides even in the case of polling communication and transmitting the procedure information at the time of the polling transmission as a high-speed signal together with the picture information.
CONSTITUTION: In an automatic calling polling reception mode set by the one-easy-step/ abbreviated dialing, a CPU 3 uses the CCITT non-standard identification signal NSC after transmission of a dial signal. Then the CPU 3 repetitively transmits the polling ID of its own device and the prescribed lower order figures of its own telephone number at a fixed interval via a MODEM 2 and based on the abbreviated procedure information. This procedure information is previously stored in a RAM 5 for each one-easy-step/abbreviated dialing operation. When an image transmitting speed is received at a relevant transmitting interval by the identification signal NSF received from the equipment of the opposite party side, a reception mode is set for the image transmitting speed. At the called side, the image transmitting speed is transmitted by the NSS as long as the transmitted polling ID and telephone number are registered. Then a command, an identification signal and the image data are transmitted at the called side by the high-speed signals.
