Title:
FACSIMILE OCR DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5936481
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the character recognition of an OCR, by selecting the binary threshold value of a binary-coding signal to be transmitted on a communication line owing to the result of recognition of the OCR.

CONSTITUTION: An input original is scanned by a scanner 3 at a facsimile transmitter 1 and photoelectrically converted and binary coded at a different threshold value in binary-coding circuits 21∼2n. The binary-coded signal is selected at a selector 31, given to a compression/expanding circuit 32 and other abinary- coded signal is stored in a memory 34 via a compression/expanding circuit 33. The binary-coded signal which is data compressed at the compression/expanding circuit 32 is modulated at an MODEM 35 and transmitted to a facsimile receiver 32. An OCR 39 transmits a character recognition impossible signal at a character recognizing section to the facsimile transmitter 1 via the facsimile receiver 2. When the selector 31 receives the character recognition impossible signal, the selector 31 retransmits the binary-coded signal with switching.
