To provide the facsimile system by which an image with high quality is printed out at a high speed by using an external printer.

In the facsimile system 1, a facsimile equipment main body 10 and an ink jet printer 30 are connected by a printer cord 2 via interfaces 20, 35, in the case of printing out an image, the facsimile equipment main body 10 provides an output of printer control codes and prescribed character data to the printer 30, an image data conversion section 19 converts image data into those processed by the printer 30 and provides an output of the image data to the printer 30. The printer 30 converts the transferred character data into font data and stores the font data to a line buffer of an input buffer memory 32 and writes the font data in place of the image data transferred from the facsimile equipment main body 10 into the line buffer and the image data in the line buffer are transferred to a print head section 33, by which the data are printed out.
