Title:
FAIL-SAFE APPARATUS FOR TORQUE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04295734
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure the achievement of fail-safe when abnormality occurs in the electronic circuit of a magnetostriction type torque sensor. CONSTITUTION:A driving current is supplied to a torque sensor 2 through a power supply line 13. The current consumption in the torque sensor 2 is detected with a current detecting resistor 16 and a detecting circuit 17. The result of the detection is compared with the reference voltage from a circuit 19 in a comparing circuit 18. When there is an abnormality in the detected current consumption, the driving current to the torque sensor 2 is cut OFF with a latch circuit 14. The operation of the electronic circuit can be stopped by cutting OFF the driving current for the torque sensor 2. The output of the detected torque can be also cut out, and fail-safe can be achieved.
