Title:
FAIL-SAFE CONTROLLING METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC CONTROL DIESEL ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6220649
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To keep off any damage due to excess heating in a solenoid spill valve, by cutting a continuous rated current to the said valve, not resting on a cam angle, when detecting an engine stall, in case of a device which controls the fuel injection quantity controlling solenoid spill valve for energization in making the cam angle a criterion.

CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection pump 42 pressurizes fuel inside a pump room according to rotation and reciprocating motion of a plunger 42G, and distributively feeds it to a fuel injection nozzle 34 via a delivery valve 42L or the like. And, fuel spill timing is varied by the solenoid spill valve 50 installed in a spill port 42K to be interconnected to the pump room whereby a fuel injection quantity is controlled. Then, this solenoid spill valve 50 is controlled for its on-off operations by an electronic control unit 56 on the basis of each output of a reference position sensor 44 and the like. At the abovementioned, since engine speed interruption is not for the specified time long, when detecting an engine stall, a continuous rated current to the solenoid spill valve 50 is forcedly cut off, whereby this valve 50 is made so as to be protected from damage.
