To conduct failure detection in an inoperative condition without special equipment required for it with a simple means and conduct optimum failure detection from hour to hour while conducting its control effectively by detecting failure during the operation and standby mode of an oil sealing type vibration damping device with the identical means.
Two types of failure detection are available: one for during operation (a control mode) and the other for no operation (a standby mode), each of which is conducted by a separate system. Mode switching is discriminated by a measured amount measured for controlling. During the control mode, it is effective to conduct in a closed condition in a device controller into which all data of the device is inputted. Its operation is conducted by a host computer. During the standby mode, respective elements of the device will not move, therefore, detecting oil leakage is a main object as detection items for a hydraulic system. Abnormality is detected based on the assumed oil pressure of a hydraulic sealing type damping device and temperature monitored in the building.
