Title:
FAILURE DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009050059
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a failure detector of simple construction capable of reliably detecting any failure in a drive control system for controlling driving of an alternating-current rotary machine by a power converter.

The failure detector detects any failure in a power converter 1 that includes a plurality of switching elements 8a to 8f and converts direct-current voltage into three-phase alternating-current voltage; an alternating-current rotary machine 2; and connecting means 3a to 3c that connect together the power converter 1 and the alternating-current rotary machine 2. The detector is provided with: current detecting means 4a, 4b provided in the connecting means 3b, 3c; a switching command generating means 5 that outputs a switching command signal to the switching elements 8a to 8f to apply voltage to all the three phases of the alternating-current rotary machine 2 and generates such a specific switching command signal that of the line-to-line voltages of three-phase voltage, two line-to-line voltages have an identical sign and the remaining one line-to-line voltage is 0; and a failure detecting means 6 that detects any failure based on the currents detected by the current detecting means 4a, 4b when the specific switching command signal is outputted.
