Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drop energy absorbing device simple to handle and high in reliability by constituting the V-shaped second opening part reduced in a cross-sectional area toward an opening part into which a rope is inserted without play of a narrow part smaller than the diameter of the rope and an inclined edge. SOLUTION: The metal body 24 of a drop energy absorbing device 14 has opening parts 26, 28 allowing a rope 12 to pass and a first opening part 26 is an oval hole capable of passing the rope 12. The distance of the short axis measured in a vertical direction between the parallel edges of an oval is made slightly larger than the diameter of the rope 12. The second opening part 28 has an inverted V-shape and gradually becomes narrow toward the first opening part 26 and the dimensional of the wide part 30 thereof is set so as to be made larger than the diameter of the safety rope 12 and the narrow part thereof is set to a dimensional about half the diameter of the safety rope 12. The side edges 33, 35 forming the intermediate part of the second opening part 28 are inclined to allow the center of the rope 12 to coincide with that of the body 24.
