A medium 1, in which a latent image 23 formed through the utilization of orientation so as to be visually recognizable through a polarizing film and to be impossible to or difficult to visually recognize through no polarizing film on the latent image forming layer 13, which is provided on a light reflecting layer 12, of the medium, is employed. The material of the latent image formed layer is a polymeric material, in which a latent image formable through the orientation caused by an external force can be provided, and a polymeric thermotropic liquid crystal material, in which a latent image is provided by developing an orientation under heat and pressure.
