PURPOSE: To obtain a fancy cloth, composed of a ground weave and plural protruding parts alternately rising from the aforementioned ground weave on the front and back of a cloth, useful as sundries such as towels, clothes, etc., and excellent in water absorptivity, heat insulating properties, wiping off properties, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The objective fancy cloth is obtained by preferably carrying out combination so as to provide a higher shrinkage factor of raw yarn of warp yarn constructing the ground weave than that of raw yarn of warp yarn constructing protruding parts (the shrinkage factor difference is 3-15%), alternately constructing the plural protruding parts 3 (preferably synthetic fiber is used) and ground weave 2 (preferably natural or regenerated fiber) on the front and back sides according to a hollow weaving method.
