To provide fancy yarn from which such a stretch fabric is obtained that durability when worn, chlorine resistance, and light resistance of the fabric are so excellent as not to be given by conventional technology, when the fabric is subjected to higher-order processing and used for clothing, etc., thickness of the fabric is small, and the fabric has a surface on which loops are formed so as to have an elegant appearance and to be rich in designability, and to provide a method for producing the same.

This fancy yarn is formed by combining polyester-based conjugated fiber yarn with other filament yarn, wherein the polyester-based yarn comprises side-by-side type yarn or eccentric sheath-core type yarn in which at least one of constituents is formed out of polytrimethylene terephthalate, and the yarn has a number of bulky loops projecting from surfaces of the yarn by 2.0 mm or more of 30-300 counts/m.
