Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fast image processing method in which a fast processor is used to perform image processing while obtaining images at different focus positions of a camera lens.SOLUTION: Image processing is performed using a camera having a multi-focus lens having an imaging lens where the lens can be set at different lens focus positions. A method comprises the steps of positioning at least one of the camera and a symbol to be imaged so that the imaging lens is directed at the symbol to be imaged, obtaining a plurality of images where each image is obtained with the lens focus at a different position, and, after the image is obtained, performing the image processing of the image using the image irrespective of whether or not the lens was focused when the image was obtained.
