Abstract:

PURPOSE: To generate an image for showing the distribution of fat by scanning different X-ray tube voltages by means of a phantom loaded with plural sample rods different in the fat reference substance and bone-salt equivalent substance density, and calculating the fat rate parameter from a regression straight line of CT value/bone-salt equivalent substance density and a specified equation.
CONSTITUTION: Different tube voltages are scanned by using a phantom loaded with a bone-salt equivalent substance and a fat reference substance in steps D1, D7 The CT value αwf of a tissue containing a fat is detected in steps D2, D8 and the CT value of the bone-salt equivalent substance is detected to calcul a regression straight line of the CT value/bone-salt equivalent substance density so as to designate the CT value as the CT value αnf of a tissue not containing a fat. In steps D3, D9 further, the CT value αff of a fat reference substance is detected, in steps D4, D10 and the CT value αat of a blood portion is detected in steps D5, D11. The respective CT values are made correspond to an equation I as fat rate parameters in steps D6, D12, and the fat rate parameter β is calculated from the regression straight line and the equation I in a step 13.
